Keeping Up with the Smart Kids
I thought that I might take a more active stance on my class supplies this year since in years past, the school has been trying to cut funding in that capacity. Our church was sponsoring a fundraising golf outing to raise money for one of the families in our church. The family has gone through some really bad times over the last year. The husband had some health problems that put him out of work for about six months and then their house had burnt down just before the holidays. It was so hard to see them go through such a hard time and not be able to do much about it. The funds committee of the church decided that we were going to sponsor this outing and use the proceeds to give to the family to help them out a bit.
